About Us

A little history about Blossom's Inc.,

A Family owned and operated company:

C Michael Vance, the owner of Blossom’s Inc, is a 3rd generation landscaping horticulturalist in South Florida. He is proud to welcome his daughter Katherine, now the 4th generation to Blossom’s Inc. Katie's artistic and academics skills are welcomed and her abilities help to create new ideas with Michael in 3D Design Studio software.

Michael has experienced many different facets of the "green" industry working in family nurseries when he was a boy, punching holes in metal 1 gallon food containers collected from the school cafeterias for which he and other neighborhood kids were paid a penny each. Bill Ingram owned that nursery in Homestead and Michaels Father H L Vance worked for Bill delivering plants to Naples and ft Myers. Tally Ellis owner of Farmers Market and Nursery on 41 at "4 Corners” Downtown Naples got acquainted with H L from delivering plants and hired him to operate his Nursery where he did successfully for 5 years. Michaels Grandparent's health issues forced the family back to Homestead and Michael’s father was hired by Everglades Sod and Landscaping in Miami. Michael would lay sod on weekends and on his summer vacations for spending money and then with his father who had also started a lawn maintenance business H L Vance and Sons Lawn Maintenance, they worked together on the weekends where his dad would teach him about plants and the value of a hard days work. 1970 The family moved to Pasco County where his father was employed to landscape Tampa international airport and run a large tree company for environmental care H L wanted to escape Miami’s corruption and growth and sought a more natural rural life for his family and to start a family nursery business. The Family worked at that for five years growing and propagating landscape plants after school and weekends. But the failing economy and the fact the family missed Naples and convinced His Father to relocate back to Naples again. So the property was put on the market and the Vance’s moved back to Naples where his father purchased the sprinkler division from Palms Nursery and landscaping. Michael, 19 now worked with his Father for the next 5 years under the name Vance’s Pump and Irrigation Inc.

Michael, eager to carve a name and face the challenges, started his own business in irrigation, landscaping and maintenance called Oasis Landscaping. Michael operated this company for 5 years before trading it to his father for a property when he was offered a partnership in landscaping a 2,500 home golf course development in Ft Myers. Unfortunately the owners and investors conflicting views marred the endeavor forcing the dissolution of that corporation.

In 2000, Michael married and was blessed with a beautiful daughter Katherine (Katie). Michael started Tamiami Plants Inc. brokering palms, trees and shrubs from Homestead to Naplesfor 8 years until the incident of 9-11 stalled the economy, along with the announcement of his father being diagnosed with terminal cancer. All this while going through irreconcilable differences with his wife forced divorce proceedings. Wanting to fulfill his father’s last wishes and settle his estate Michael agreed to purchase his landscaping business and sell his nursery. Michael never intending to go back into lawn maintenance but he inspected the accounts to sell and brought them up to date. First National Bank’s facility director Eric Sooley expressed his extreme satisfaction of Blossom's Landscaping results and passed along the many compliments he was receiving from bank’s CEO. He informed Michael that he had plenty of more work coming, so a great client partnership was born. First National Bank grew fast opening and buying other banks all over the state. Blossom's Inc was exclusively taking care of all the FN banks from Key West to Clearwater. Until years later Fifth Third bought all the stock, stole the bank and all the work as well.

Katie has joined with Blossom's Inc and currently working part time and attending college with major in business and a minor in arts and an extreme interest in biology. Katie is very creative also with strong artistic values, she is full of potential and an asset. She has helped advance Blossoms into the future by creating a 3D design studio and a new website. The newest addition to the Blossom’s team is Michael’s nephew Stephen. It was always in Michael’s mind for them to work in a family business. Michael's love for nature and familiarity of the landscaping horticulture industry has accentuated his gift for creating beautiful landscape gardens out of jungles and swamps. His extensive knowledge of many types and varieties of trees, palms and plants, along with their growth habits and native environments create beautiful landscapes.
